Orange Squashed by Mast Action Women
Today marks the end of a decade of campaigning against telecoms giant Orange.
At 8am today (24th October), Orange began dismantling the controversial mobile base station mast in Goffs Oak J.M.I. and Nursery School, which was erected in November 1995 under cover of night and without consultation with parents or local residents.
Christine Mangat and Julie Matthew, co-founders of the National Campaign Group Mast Action U.K., have won a landmark victory in their ten year struggle against corporate domination of the formulation and implementation of public policy.
"We have maintained unremitting pressure on the MOA., Central Government (to bring the industry under tighter regulation) and Herts County Council, Broxbourne Borough Council and Goffs Oak JMI & Nursery School in our absolute determination to secure a safer environment for both school children and local residents. We have, at last, prevailed."
"Our future is brighter without Orange"
